Procurement Specialist – Portsmouth area – Manufacturing

We’re recruiting for a Procurement Specialist on behalf of a global manufacturing company to join them at their site on the outskirts of Portsmouth. This is working within the centralised procurement team who coordinate closely with additional sites in the UK and Ireland. You will need to have excellent communication skills and demonstrated purchasing expertise within manufacturing. This is a great opportunity to grow within a business that are rapidly growing.

Responsibilities

As a Procurement Specialist you will act as a liaison between the planning, procurement and production teams. You will play a key role in evaluating cost saving initiatives within the company supply chain and lead projects such as dual sourcing and cost reduction.
You will maintain regular communication with suppliers whilst highlighting areas that can be improved and addressing any potential issues, whilst updating and maintaining the company MRP system.

You will thrive in this role if you have around 5 years of procurement / purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment and you can identify processes that can be improved.
You will need to have excellent communication and negotiation skill as well as project management experience and strong IT skills.

The role of Procurement Specialist is commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Havant, Hayling Island, Chichester and surrounding areas.
